MOUNTAIN REST LAKE PROPERTY OWNERS ASSOCIATION
Mountain Rest Lake is a residential community with two private lakes located in Mountain Rest, South Carolina.
Living on or around the lake in the community affords members of the property owners association and those with deeded rights opportunities for swimming, boating, and fishing in the two lakes. The lakes are private and are not open to the public. The nearby and adjacent Oconee National Forest provides for great hiking and just a short drive away is great fly fishing, rafting & kayaking on the Chattooga River.
OCONEE NATIONAL FOREST
The Oconee National Forest is adjacent to the community as well as the StumphouseTunnel and the beautiful 200' cascade of the Issaquenaa waterfalls.
CHATTOOGA RIVER
Mountain Rest also borders the wild and scenic Chattooga River which is known for it's trout fishing and challenging whitewater rafting and kayaking. A short drive away are the popular small cities of Highlands, NC and Cashiers, NC
